Tips for Moving in Unfavorable Weather

Weather may play a surprisingly large role on moving day. Some times for the better, sometimes not. The only way to have a successful move during bad weather is to prepare for it as much as possible and work together. In this blog, our expert Minnesota movers are going to provide some tips on weathering potential storms on moving day.

Beautiful Day

If you have gorgeous weather on your moving day, take advantage of it! Don’t take for granted a mild day because many wish they had more ideal conditions when they moved. There is a higher chance of a seamless move on a day with perfect weather. Be helpful to your moving team, and the process will be over before you know it.

Precipitation

Precipitation can provide some challenges, but it doesn’t have to ruin your move. If it’s raining on your moving day, don’t panic. We routinely cover items before we pack them onto the truck, so that will shield them from the rain. If you’re experiencing snow on your moving day, a little extra work will be required. Make sure you shovel stairs and walkways at your current home and the location you’re moving to. Assist your Minnesota movers in any way possible. Be patient, as it is better to go slow and be safe, than to be sorry.

High Winds

High winds are hard to prepare for. If they plague your moving day, you’ll just have to be flexible. It may change up the order things are packed, but not much more. We don’t want to have items that will easily blow over or blow away sitting outside, waiting to be loaded. We will streamline the process, so lighter items are moved directly from the home onto the truck. Again, in windy conditions it is important to be as helpful as possible to your moving team.
